-- SERVICE PROVIDER AUTOMATION GROUP -- As lead software architect, played a pivotal role in the development and success of Crosswork Network Controller, a cloud-native solution for managing large ISP networks for high reliability and efficiency through the use of automation and real-time analytics. Led 30+ engineers across several teams to build the system from 0 – 1 and beyond. * Designed and developed Active Topology, the centerpiece of the product, to discover and track in real-time large global multi-domain network topologies across multiple layers from ethernet, IPv4/ IPv6 to TE tunnels/ LSPs and VPN Services. * Led cross functional teams to design/ implement a streaming data pipeline based on Kafka for real-time analytics based on large volume of telemetry data collected from 10s of 1000s of routers with millions of interfaces. * Led several cross functional teams including UX designers and UI developers to design/ implement a “Unified UI” which enables a user to visualize multi-layer topology of very large networks consisting of 100s of 1000s of objects, along with associated real-time state and KPIs, all on a single pane of glass.* Delivered 20x improvement in system scale, driving the effort across several cross functional teams over three releases.* Collaborated with the device engineering team to develop controller support for Circuit Style Segment Routing, a much-requested feature from ISP customers to offer Private Line Service over IP/ MPLS networks.* Developed capability to monitor performance and track history of transport path changes to provide network operators with valuable insights for post mortem analysis. Designed UI to visualize and analyze topology/ path at any specific time in the past.* Developed industry-first automation capabilities in a network controller to deploy and manage Tree SID policies, helping to accelerate adoption of this new Segment Routing based multicast transport technology.

-- Mass Scale Infrastructure Group (MIG) -- * As part of the architecture team, created the platform software design for a new line card based on merchant silicon for NCS 4000 routing platform. Worked closely with Broadcom architects to acquire deep understanding of the NPU architecture. Designed QoS data and control plane to deploy capabilities of the NPU while maintaining consistency with existing IOS-XR QoS architecture.* Developed hardware offload for CFM (Continuity Fault Management) protocol on NCS 4000, improving scale by 8x.* Implemented multicast forwarding functionality (PIM SM/SSM/Bi-dir, Auto RP) on NCS 6000 routing platform.

-- Core Routing Business Unit --* Led a team of 8 engineers to develop extensive QoS capabilities on CRS-3 core routing platform, spanning 6 packet processing asics in the data path across 3 forwarding stages. - Collaborated with asic architects and device driver teams to implement features such as hierarchical queuing/ scheduling, packet classification, hierarchical policing, packet buffer management and traffic accounting. - Triaged, debugged complex customer issues related to bandwidth guarantee, prioritization, latency. Advised customers on proper configurations to achieve desired behavior. * Developed Vidmon feature to monitor video packet flows to proactively detect degradation of video quality.
