Exploring LifeSelf-Employed Oct 2019 - Nov 2023Delhi, IndiaExploring the unexplored. Living life like a consumer. Learnt so much looking at the real world being a consumer. Was in a different routine working in the corporate world :-). Life is amazing!. Don't waste it on a presentation :) Think about it.Lessons of experiences from both sides are a story untold, I guess. In a single line, my earlier experience was awesome, post-corporate life was the consolidation phase.

Global Category Marketing Lead - Respiratory Portfolio - OtrivinGsk Jan 2017 - Sep 2019Nyon, Vaud, SwitzerlandThis was a global category marketing role. This was an extremely exciting role as this was like creating the brand & innovations for adoption for all markets. My earlier stints were in a diverse market like India, then a region like Middle East (different countries) and now a global category. As a team of 5, we had to dig in consumer insights across diverse markets and find opportunities for growth and new innovations. This would then lead to close interactions with markets to help them grow their business/brand to achieve yearly forecasts. I was specifically working with Germany, Russia, South East Asia. I was a part of the monthly project management board every month. -
Global Category Innovation Lead - Respiratory Portfolio - OtrivinGsk Aug 2016 - Sep 2019Nyon, Vaud, SwitzerlandThis role has a specific goal of leading a cross-functional team (agency, R&D, supply chain, design, packaging, project team) to drive an innovation project. I was leading this cross-functional team for a German innovation in Otrivin that had a moisturizing effect after use.During this project, my main achievement was that I brought the launch timeline from 2019 to 2018! It was unheard of in any innovation project that was being driven globally. -
Area Marketing Lead - Panadol Portfolio - Middle East & TurkeyGsk - Middle East & Turkey Jul 2015 - Jul 2016Dubai, United Arab EmiratesThis was the time when the Middle East region was getting restructured and Turkey was added. And then the HQ moved from Dubai to Turkey. The key was to ensure continuity of business of a new portfolio well. I think I did that well. Nothing more to report here more.

Consumer Marketing - Boost IndiaGsk Consumer Healthcare India Oct 2011 - Nov 2013Gurgaon, IndiaSpent all my time learning foundational marketing. Writing clear simple briefs. Keeping us away from the product and thinking like a consumer. The team created insightful commercials. Moved numbers (growth, share, equity..) like in previous stints. Was awarded the marketeer of the year award! Was truly humbled and amazed! Learned some lessons on HQ relationships. Was acknowledged by the agency partners as one of their most loved clients :-).Ah yes, shared my mother's aloo parantha with Dhoni while sitting on a slab during one of the shoots! -
Shopper/Customer Marketing ManagerGsk Consumer Healthcare - South Region Jan 2010 - Sep 2011Chennai, Tamil Nadu, IndiaIn this role, I was responsible for execution of all marketing plans in the Southern region across 7 areas, customizing the plans to suit each area/state for effective regional growth. Making sure the plans had quality for each ASM and would be an asset for achieving their goals was important. Managed the regional BTL budget, optimizing spends, assisted the leadership in planning the regional forecast and then achieving the regional commitments. Was responsible for the launch of Sensodyne in trade in coordination with the marketing team. South region was the first region to launch Sensodyne in the country. Regional growth number, I don't remember. But we moved numbers like anything! I remember our parties! Of course, execution of my plans by the ASMs that mattered! :-).

Area Sales ManagerGsk Consumer Healthcare - West India Jan 2008 - Dec 2009Mumbai, Maharashtra, IndiaManaged a team of 6+36 people and a warehouse, delivering a direct distribution of 28000 retail outlets across central India. It was a declining marketing with a low reputation for the company. I remember the first visit to a distributor (Indore) for the handover. That visit.. spread the news in the area that someone had arrived. We grew double digits and my team left a legacy. Value of relationships and building a "team" is something one learns in sales.
