I contributed to two high-impact national projects in Nepal, delivering critical technology solutions that supported earthquake recovery and enhanced geo-spatial data infrastructure.1. Earthquake Housing Reconstruction Project (EHRP):Led the development of digital tools for the post-earthquake reconstruction of 700,000+ private homes after the 2015 Nepal earthquake.Key Contributions:■ Developed a mobile application to capture real-time reconstruction data from the field■ Built a Python/Django web application to process and integrate field data with the EHRP MIS via API■ Conducted large-scale data cleaning, analysis, and reporting using Python (Pandas) and Excel■ Visualized data insights through interactive maps using QGIS, supporting key decisions for the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA)■ Collaborated with NRA on strategic decisions around data and software components for the project2. Nepal GeoNode: Customized an open-source platform to serve as Nepal’s comprehensive GIS data repository, streamlining access to geo-spatial information for analysis and decision-making.Key Contributions:■ Tailored the GeoNode platform to meet Nepal’s specific needs for managing and sharing geo-spatial data■ Automated data backups and migration processes using Python, Linux/bash, and rsync■ Managed the cleanup of shapefiles and geo-spatial data using Python and Linux tools■ Attended the 2018 GeoNode Summit in Torino, Italy, representing Nepal on the global stage
