Constantly learning and evolving to stay relevant in these fast-changing times.My journey into the field of finance started during my childhood days by being good with numbers and having a healthy relationship with money. Initial interest in financial markets was the result of witnessing markets in free fall during the Global Financial Crisis in 2008. My curiosity towards understanding how businesses work and financial markets function led me on the path to becoming a Chartered Accountant. I started my career in Audit with Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP (Mumbai). During my articleship, I was involved in Risk Assessment, Test of Controls, and Financial Analysis of manufacturing companies and their investment and debt profiles, corporate finance, and payroll. Upon reaching a point where I was more interested in learning where to invest and how to evaluate investments, I decided to transition to the field of investment research and enhance my knowledge and skillset through the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program and passed all 3 levels of the program. In my current role as a Senior Mutual Fund Analyst at Value Research, my research on investments spans across asset classes, sectors, and market cap. It also entails long-form writing focusing on various nuances of personal finance and different aspects of mutual funds and equity markets that need to be addressed. It aims to empower retail investors to make informed investment decisions and steer clear of investments that are detrimental to their financial health.I added a new dimension to my journey by focusing my free time on identifying investment opportunities within the mid-, small- and micro-cap space with a strong preference for businesses that can compound wealth at an exceptional rate for decades.
