Head of Global Data Engineering & Operations responsible for leading and overseeing teams managing the entire corporate database environment consisting of OLTP database environments, DWH, ETLs\ELTs, Azure SQL, NoSQL, Data Pipelines, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse. This is a multi-application / multi-geo environment supporting hundreds of clients and several thousand employees. Build, manage and lead a large team of staff technical resources, as well as vendor resources, including Database Managers, Data Architects, Sr. DBAs, and Sr. Data Engineers Overall responsibility to manage a large data environment which includes 100+ servers, 1,000's of databases, 500+ TB data, numerous data pipelines (ETL) in on-premise and Azure. Lead for rearchitecting the SQL Server production farm which reduced license costs by 30%, saving $200K/PY. Responsible for setting up a geographically dispersed team to provide support based on an onshore/offshore model, which in turn drastically reduced the cost of local database services by 60%, saving the company $500K/PY. Report directly to the CIO and engage in project steering committees as well as stakeholder meetings to help define the corporate data strategy. Collaboratively work with multiple divisions within the organization as well as many clients.   Manage an annual budget of ~$5M per year. Acting head of data services responsible for running 24X7 database operations across multiple geographies including the management of licenses & license compliance, data services & catalogs, vendor services, capacity planning, policies and procedures, secure access of data, and support audits. Achieve operational effectiveness by leveraging ServiceNow to manage incidents, changes, services, and demands as well as utilize Azure DevOps to gain more insight into features & bugs. Responsible to manage vendors' deliverables associated with data services & Microsoft SQL Server licensing.

During this period, I designed a large eDiscovery Platform from scratch which is based on Microsoft SQL Server and .NET. This project turned into the flagship product for the organization that eventually received a US patent (US20150074007A1). Additionally, I led the implementation of Dynamics AX and BI 360, the development of various ETL, and reporting projects.

- Initiated and performed a requirement study which helped finalize the business requirement of eDiscovery Data Culling Engine, an internally used product. - Led the database design and development of an eDiscovery Data Culling & Search Engine based on the Microsoft SQL Server platform. - Lead Database Developer managing a team of 4 database engineers & developers (SQL Server). - Technical environment included primarily SQL Server, .NET, DTSearch, FullText Search, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc.

Lead Database Engineer responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of a large ETL project for an Atlanta-based medical claim processing company. Tech stack included Microsoft DTS, SSIS/SSRS, T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers & functions. Held overall responsibility to ensure that the completed ETL could handle the processing of 500k – 800k medical claims every day within the client data warehouse. Provided database development support for a large health care client based out of Atlanta. Primarily focused on developing database code on both SQL Server & Oracle platforms which included SQL & PL/SQL development, designing tables, views, stored procedures, functions, etc.

Conceptualized and defined the data landscape for a leading governmental department within India which handled the data of 48,000 employees, spread across 750 offices nationally, which included 1000’s of projects. Sr. Database Consultant working for CPWD (a department under Govt. of India) responsible for the design, development & implementation of several large data systems implemented in 750 offices located across the country in a department supporting 48,000 employees. Designed, developed & implemented a Personnel Information Management Systems (PIMS), a system designed on distributed data architecture to manage employee data, employment history, transfer, posting, and payroll. Designed, developed & implemented a Work Management System which handles the department’s building and road construction projects focusing on the planning, timeline, cost, budget, milestones, etc. Both projects were completed successfully and the PMIS project won the CSI-NIHILENT Award (a prestigious Indian award in the field of eGovernance) for the best eGovernance project in India.
