Streamlining Underwriting Processes * Automated Underwriting Model: Designed and implemented an Automated Underwriting Model for Term Products, emulating Underwriter's decisions. This involved a comprehensive process of EDA, feature engineering, feature selection, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, model fitting, and validation. The result was improved decision-making, accelerated policy issuance, and a significant reduction in turnaround time.Customer Policy Retention and Segmentation* Term Withdrawal Aversion Model: Developed a segmentation model aimed at minimizing customer policy cancellations. This model utilized customer demographic, geographic, product, and credit bureau profiles to efficiently target at-risk customers. The collaborative effort with the customer call center led to reduction in cancellations and increase in policy issuance rates. I played a pivotal role in stakeholder management, data acquisition, segmentation rule modification, and cross-functional collaboration for seamless deployment.Predictive Modeling for Insurance Policies* Revised and Enhanced Persistency Model: Built a comprehensive Persistency Model from the ground up to predict the probability of a second premium payment for insurance policies. This involved leveraging my extensive knowledge in EDA, feature engineering, feature selection, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, model fitting, and validation. My efforts resulted in a highly accurate model that significantly improved policy renewal rates.* Stakeholder Management: Successfully managed relationships with diverse channel partners, ensuring the acceptance and adoption of the new Persistency Model.
