I deliver specialist domestic abuse education to schools, businesses and organisations across Shetland. I also oversee all community outreach events and activities, as well as all communications, for Shetland Women's Aid. In my spare time I founded Purple Loft Project, a non-profit organisation providing free creative opportunities to people Shetland, with an emphasis on supporting young people experiencing mental health difficulties.I'm passionate about volunteering and making a difference in my community, and currently volunteer for the Shetland Befriending Scheme. I was recently a trustee for the Compass Centre (Shetland Rape Crisis) and, from 2012 to 2015, I was the Oxjam Takeover Manager for Shetland. Oxjam is Oxfam’s annual, UK-wide music festival. In my first year volunteering for Oxjam I was responsible for generating the most money in the whole of Scotland, and was named one of the most successful female first-time managers of all time.I regularly practice and perform improvised comedy, and am a founding member of Shetland Comedy. I have written and delivered a variety of improv workshops, including 'Improv for Mindfulness' - teaching the skills of improv as a way of increasing self-confidence, listening skills, and ability to live and react in the moment.
