My role as Marketing Communications Lead was to support the development of strategic and tactical marketing communications plans and ensure all hospital and executive messages were clear and consistent to all key stakeholders. I provided an expert copywriting service in respects of press, advertising, literature and web, for both promotional and patient information purposes, ensuring brand values and customer propositions were clearly communicated and adhered to.

Sep 2011 - Dec 2012

Marketing Manager

London

I was responsible for the implementation of a digital communications strategy for the meeting venues division of MWB Business Exchange. The e-marketing campaign included the redesign of the current template system and a new processes to minimise turn around time. I also coordinated a direct mail plan for roll-out across a number of key central London venues. This included handling a list of over 2,500 contacts and sending out eye-catching DM, with email and phone call follow-up by the Meetings Venues sales team.I handled MWB’s commitment to conferences, expos and advertising opportunities in order to maximise exposure and increase overall brand awareness. The consolidation of these mediums has resulted in a decrease in marketing spend but new business leads and key contacts within the industry.I assisted key venues with networking forums and worked on a series of events called ‘Let Meetings Shine’, which launched various refurbished meeting venues to its key markets. These events were very successful in generating new business and the new format was rolled-out across most central London venues as standard. On a day-to-day basis, I produced a wide variety of material including, brochures, networking flyers, invitations and press releases. The production of internal / external comms required liaising with a host of external and internal suppliers.

Mar 2011 - Aug 2011

Marketing Manager

Joondalup, Western Australia

I managed the creative direction, execution and budget of the ’growing with you’ branding campaign, which aimed to change the perception of Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) within the community through print, online and outdoor advertisements. I started conducting research before I left, however never got the chance to see the results.I handled the public relations activities, which involved all press inquiries, proactively seeking media opportunities to promote the hospital, and advising senior management on crisis strategy. I launched the first website for Joondalup Health Campus. This involved liaising with a web developer to construct a new website and writing and editing content and assessing usability with a focus group before going live. I was also in the process of restructuring the company’s Intranet site before I left.I produced the two major publications for the hospital - an internal newsletter distributed fortnightly to over 600 hospital staff and a quarterly magazine distributed to the general public, key stakeholders, media, and medical professionals. I also streamlined all internal communications through the introduction of poster and signage templates. I wrote a variety of material for press releases, invitations, advertisements, signage, medical brochures, annual reports and CEO speeches. I handled the organisation of most hospital events, which ranged from staff coffee mornings to a press launch of new facilities for the Mental Health Unit in 2009.

Sep 2008 - Jul 2010

Marketing & Pr Coordinator

Nedlands, Western Australia

I worked closely with an advertising agency on the ‘Amazing’ branding campaign, which aimed to showcase Hollywood Private Hospital’s specialities and change its perception from ‘veterans hospital’ to modern, private hospital through online, print and outdoor advertisements. Amazing was also used in a recruitment campaign for the hospital, and still sets the tone for the hospital’s new look and feel since its refurbishment.I rebranded the hospital’s Internet and Intranet sites and managed the content of both sites using a CMS and directing a web developer. I sourced and wrote articles, took photographs, edited and produced the quarterly external magazine and the fortnightly internal staff newsletter, and liaised with printers and graphic designers to ensure timely delivery.I dabbled in health promotion by working on the Mole Patrol, which was a joint initiative between Hollywood Private Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus to increase skin health awareness and promote the prevention of skin cancer in Perth. Major sponsors included Redimed, The West Australian, Nova 937fm, Invisible Zinc and Barbagallo – all respected philanthropic WA businesses.I wrote and distributed press releases to media outlets and coordinated all photo and interview opportunities. I also assisted with a diverse calendar of events including GP education evenings, press launches, staff Christmas parties and medical specialist’s evenings.
