The Bechtel Group & Associates is a woman-owned, veteran-owned small business that focuses on health and wellness coaching, resilience, and risk reduction.

As the CEO of The Bechtel Group & Associates, Inc., I developed business opportunities and provided relevant training and consultation services to government and industry on a breadth of topics. I was responsible for the administration, management, and execution of all contracted work efforts. The scope of my efforts spanned the spectrum ranging from the acquisition and sustainment of the Army National Guard’s Training Division Strategy for Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations to providing resilience, risk reduction, and suicide prevention support to private and public entities.

My role as a Research Analyst for Colorado State University is focused on providing support to the Army National Guard at the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI). In this capacity, I helped leaders make programmatic and funding decision by reviewing, collecting, and reporting on a variety of compliance and utilization data sets as well as subjective information sources related to training requirements, capabilities, acquisition, and sustainment of training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations.

I had the great honor of serving as an active duty military officer for 20 years in a variety of positions. These positions span the spectrum from company command to serving as an Associate Professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point through a terminal assignment in the National Capital Region as a branch chief responsible for Soldier Health and Wellness initiatives, policies, programs, and funding.

Further developed and implemented policy and resources for the ARNG’s Suicide Prevention Program and the Soldier Well-Being Program (which changed to Comprehensive Soldier Fitness and then Resilience/Risk Reduction). Managed national programs funded at over $100M per year including Suicide Prevention, Soldier Well-Being, and individual Resilience/Risk Reduction. These programs supported over 500,000 ARNG Soldiers and Family Members in all 54 States and territories as well as 50,000 deployed Soldiers annually.

Taught 250 West Point cadets annually over four years in General Psychology for the Department of Behavioral Science and Leadership. Designed and implemented the first ever year-long faculty development workshop for the Department that enhanced classroom strategies and transformed the integration of new faculty. Served as the Course Director for the Foundations of Counseling elective course and revised the Foundations of Counseling curriculum to include an experiential element of learning versus a purely theoretical approach.
