Leading Community Reinvestment for Honeywell in Kansas City by creating key partnerships and programs to improve lives, engage employees and demonstrate commitment to CSR. The Honeywell Opportunity for Prosperity through Education is a signature program aimed at providing scholarship money to graduating high school seniors from urban high schools who plan to pursue a career in manufacturing or skilled trade. The scholarship provides funding for students to complete their training and education debt-free, and provides them with a career path towards a prosperous and promising future. Other areas of community investment include STEM education, Family Safety & Security, Housing & Shelter and Military Families & Veterans.

I led community relations and communications (internal/external) for BOK Financial's Kansas City market. Pioneering the role, I supported all lines of business during a period of robust growth for the market, including the acquisition and merger of Mobank. I developed multiple channels of internal communication to support the market CEO and foster open communication during the M&A of Mobank. As the first person to hold this position in Kansas City, I laid the groundwork and grew the position organically, strategically raising the profile of the company in the community to foster revenue growth. As a member of the bank's leadership team, I helped execute and develop the roadmap for future success. Other highlights: -Created and wrote newsletters, video scripts, company Intranet and company collateral to better communicate with companies at multiple sites across the region-Managed budget of more than $500k to support client entertainment, events, marketing and community outreach -Served on the senior leadership team and actively led three strategic initiatives in support of five year strategic plan-Created and executed high level client entertainment events to engage customers and drive revenue-Managed vendor relationships to support events, marketing and internal communications objectives

I had the pleasure of serving as the communications manager of one of Kansas City's most beloved nonprofit organizations, Wayside Waifs, which gave me a deep understanding of nonprofit management and leadership. In this role, I managed media relations, donor communications and direct mail campaigns responsible for generating more than $1mm in donations to support the mission. Significant achievements include increasing participation and revenue in Strutt With Your Mutt by 100%, building it into one of the community's most popular fall events. I also generated national media coverage for the organization's anti-bullying program, and doubled positive local television coverage.

As a key leader in the newsroom, I led a news and production team of more than 20 people to create two compelling, factual and informative nightly live newscasts during the key 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. time slots. My responsibilities included writing dozens of stories daily, original reporting, fact checking and story selection. I also created a vision for the newscasts daily to ensure the content was presented visually to compliment and enhance the news. Of course all the days plans could be changed in a moment to reflect the breaking news of the evening. Often on the fly, I made split second decisions to deliver the most current, relevant and potentially life saving information to viewers, while keeping anchors up to speed, coordinating with the production team and field teams to ensure seamless coverage in dynamic and evolving situations.

Working overnight, I produced the nation's highest-rated local morning newscast in the top 100 markets. This included producing two full hours and network cut-ins Monday-Friday. I developed relationships that led to overnight tips, story ideas and fresh content to share with viewers as they started their day. With limited resources and a skeleton crew, I had to be creative and resourceful to develop an exciting morning show that created loyal viewers and was seen by the community as a trusted source of important information.
