Career Development Coordinator
As the coordinator of the Career Development Program, I ran intake meetings for new referrals and processed all intake paperwork. I was responsible for creating person centered career development plans for clients. I recorded client information for daily, weekly, and monthly documentation, acted as a positive role model for clients, and evaluated, directed, and placed individuals into jobs and activities of interest. I was responsible for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities on their path to employment through helping them learn new skills and coping mechanisms for job success, selecting an employment goal through informational interviews and job shadowing experiences, and building communication and interpersonal skills. I assessed the strengths, needs, abilities, and behaviors of individuals and provided the resources necessary to assist in a job search. Once an individual was offered a job, I helped to ensure that they would be able to perform the job tasks as expected and be comfortable in their work environment. I assisted with the development of natural and peer supports in the workplace and helped with any potential issues or concerns. I also facilitated the Discovery process for Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The Discovery process is an individualized determination of an individual’s strengths, interests, preferences and accommodation and support needs resulting in the development of a vocational profile that is used to assist in choosing a community-based employment option. The Discovery process captures information in a positive way, yet identifies information about the accommodation and support needs of the individual in a way that enhances the individual’s chances of successful employment.

Sales Associate
I greeted guests in a warm and friendly manner, shared product knowledge to increase sales and meet hourly sales goals, responded to and resolved any customer complaints, performed receptionist duties, ensured the store was well maintained, and recorded monthly inventory.
Autism Aide
I performed Applied Behavioral Analysis programs developed by Nationwide Children's Hospital with a 2 year old child on the autism spectrum. I worked with a team and independently to introduce, improve, and reinforce play and life skills with the child while recording progress and tracking her temperament. I met with my team weekly to discuss progress and implement new programs. I used music, books, and play to creatively engage the child in therapy programs.
