Environment and Approvals Manager on UNITY Alliance (CRR RIS). I drive the project’s environmental capability and performance by ensuring compliance with all contract and legal requirements regarding environmental management and sustainability performance while creating and supporting innovations for environmental and sustainability outcomes.

I provide project management and project director support to various projects for the business across both design and construction stages. My role involves facilitating workshops with clients and design teams and providing technical guidance across various sustainability and environmental deliverables.

As Sustainability Manager for Laing O’Rourke, my role managed or supported environmental and sustainability aspects on Defence, rail, building and energy projects. In this role, I also help lead the Global Sustainability Strategy for the Australian Hub which included – operational net zero by 2030, net zero company before 2050 and 50/50 gender balance by 2033. Developing these targets took six months of baselining, workshops and assessments.I held the role of Project Manager for the final stage of Battlefield Airlifter Project based at RAAF Base Amberley. The role involved Managing the interface activities and reporting requirements with the PMCA and Base stakeholders, Overall responsibility for program execution and budget performance, Facilitating Completion activities and Demobilisation planning. A key achievement on this project was assisting in the development of a relocation and refurbishment strategy a heritage listed building that was relocated across the runway late at night to mitigate any impact on Base activities and was building code certified four months later.

Environment and Heritage manager across a range of industries including Defence, Building, Rail and Civil in both pre contracts and delivery. Experience across particular areas such as Contamination (PFAS, Hydrocarbons, ACM), Approvals, Heritage and Stakeholder engagement.

My role is to assist the pre contracts team through providing tender support, environmental advice and technical research capabilities. Some specific duties include communication with subcontractors and consultants for quote preparation, research into proposed construction methodologies and providing advice to building team on relevant legislative and regulatory matters.

• Conducting investigative reviews of operational procedures and various business controls to improve consistency across the business and assist in implementation of the Lines of Defence. • Reviewing and updating procedures and associated training resources.• Assisting in the roll out of new initiatives across the company such as changes in investigation systems, changes in training syllabus.• Environmental Subject Matter Expert and assisting in pre-tender and tender responses to clients.

$777 million managing contractor building job in Brisbane’s Gallipoli Army Barracks. It was a combination of training facilities, live in accommodations and associated services being constructed over 4 years.Main duty on this project was to coordinate the implementation of environmental management requirements across the project and community relation documents on the latter half of the project. Other key responsibilities include; management and development of environmental graduates, routine client liaison and communication of issues and performances, PMCA communication, subcontractor training and management, application and close outs of environmental approvals, review and creation of risk management documents, site based environmental risk management and ensure ISO 14001 compliance. Key Outcomes / Achievements• Achieving 100% compliance during internal and external ISO audits including recertification audits,• Creating the projects final environmental Offset strategy for implementation on Federal land.• Successful remediation of multiple contaminated land sites of varying risk levels including asbestos, heavy metals, hydrocarbons and UXO’s.• Improved environmental training to subcontractors including creation of a bespoke practical sediment and erosion control demonstration with over 150 people attending the course over 12 months.• finding significant cost saving possibilities for the project through landscaping improvements, appropriate contractor and consultant selection and negotiations with client to allow significant material re-use on site.• Project was a finalist for the QLD 2014 Premiers Sustainability awards – the first time John Holland had submitted for this award. I was also the lead author for this submission.• Nominated in NAWICs Young Achiever category for my work on the project including strengthening community and client relationships and my mentoring and support of younger women and graduates within the company.

As an Environmental Scientist, My responsibilities were extremely varied depending on the client’s needs. The majority of works involved conducting the initial document review and managing the process through to the end report or product needed for review and signoff by the Senior Environmental Scientist.

In My role as Officer, I worked closely with the feasibility and planning teams to ensure that the environmental plan matched the project schedule and Queensland’s Environmental legislations. While onsite I collected and documented the appropriate environmental data from site staff and subcontractors with regards to erosion, sediment control, noise/dust and water quality.
