-Mediated and de-escalated contentious community conversations about issues including transit accessibility, equitable development, and public safety concerns at 150+ public community meetings with up to 100 attendees -Attracted media coverage and sparked public dialogue with 125+ persuasive press releases, web content, and an e-mail newsletter with 1900+ subscribers using concise, relevant stories to translate complex social and economic policy issues. -Launched a “complete streets” initiative by authoring a successful $600,000 grant proposal to the PA Department of Community and Economic Development, and organizing formal support from City, County, and State officials, resulting in additional matching funds for a $1.2M+ multimodal street improvement project, connecting drivers, pedestrians, transit riders, and cyclists.-Created new public space for civic engagement and senior health programs as a key lead for a $3.5 million Senior & Community Center renovation, working with multiple stakeholders including neighborhood leaders, public administrators, architects, and engineers.-Created a comprehensive Paid Family Leave policy for 500 employees by managing cross-functional teams to benchmark policies in comparable U.S. cities, writing legislation, and engaging organizations including the National Partnership for Women & Families to successfully advocate for passage of the bill. -Expanded access to public data by shaping Pittsburgh’s first Open Data legislation. Collaborated with technical and legal leads to ensure maximum transparency while also protecting personal and proprietary information. Collaborated with the Sunlight Foundation and the City of Philadelphia to provide persuasive, supportive testimony, and organized the first City Council hearing in which questions were answered directly from Twitter using the hashtag #openpgh.

As the Constituent Services Manager, I received calls and e-mails from residents about a variety of issues, from public safety, to infrastructure, disrepair and stormwater. I worked with City departments, other regional governmental entities, and non-profit organizations, sorting through bureaucracy to solve constituent issues. I also managed the Councilwomanʼs calendar and wrote proclamations and wills of council.

-Shaped public discourse around the opioid epidemic, immigration, equitable development, and other community issues by organizing a coalition of 100+ community volunteers, 13 national, state, and local advocacy and labor groups, and elected officials for a City Council primary election campaign, garnering 43% of the vote.-Raised $80,000 over 5 months for a primary election campaign by leveraging contacts and persuading individual and organizational donors.-Utilized Twitter and Facebook to communicate directly with voters and stakeholders about neighborhood and policy issues. Used Facebook Live video to answer constituent questions, garnering an average of 433 views, with a high of 709 views. Earned a high organic post reach of 6,376 views, with a high of 25.5% post engagement.

I supported clean air campaign coalition leaders in 15 states, organized national sign-on letters to Congress,and wrote campaign materials. I organized two annual strategy meetings in Washington, DC for 35 coalition leaders from across the country. I also coordinated meetings with congressional staff for lobby days, and was a registered lobbyist for the organization.

As the primary community organizer for the Allegheny County Partnership to Reduce Diesel Pollution for Clean Water Action, I worked closely with local and national coalition leaders to advocate for policies and funding to reduce diesel particulate pollution in the Pittsburgh region. I collaborated on foundation grant proposals and reports as well as applications for two federal programs: the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) and the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) program.
