I worked as a veterinary technician assistant while shadowing Dr. Don Hartfiel. I learned how to take vitals, conduct fecal tests, prepare vaccinations, verified inventory as well as stocked medical supplies. I assisted in surgeries and dentals, fed and cared for the clinic pets, observed x-rays, and prepared gram stains and urinalysis tests. In addition, I aided in laser therapy, used tools such as a refractometer and completed many more tasks. I interacted with clients and learned how to collect patient history, which aided in strengthening my communication skills. This was a great learning experience from a private practice veterinary clinic.

I shadowed Dr. Bethany Crellin, DVM at Tomball Litter Control. On occasion, I rode with her to house calls, treating patients at the comfort of their homes. I aided in preparing vaccinations and helped constrain animals during checkups. I was tasked with recording weights and helping the doctor perform services. I interacted with clients and learned how to collect patient history. I was able to view spay and neuter surgeries at the Tomball Litter Control.
