I am a qualified Social Worker, experienced in Children's Safeguarding social work. I currently work as a Children's Guardian at Cafcass. I am skilled in managing a complex caseload, including the completion of assessments, plans and reviews. I am confident and competent in my understanding of court processes and in my completion of assessments and evidence in public and private proceedings. Relationships are at the centre of my practice. I work in a strengths based and collaborative manner with families to facilitate positive outcomes. I am particularly influenced by Systemic Theory, Attachment Theory and Trauma Informed Practice in my practice. I have an inquisitive mind and I am dedicated to ongoing professional development. Following my Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, I completed an MSc in Advanced Relationship Based Social Work Practice with Children and Families, achieving a distinction. I have a particular interest in social justice issues and the ethical dilemmas. I have previously completed a BA in Philosophy, Religion and Ethics and also a MA in International Law, Ethics and Politics. When completing these qualifications, I focused on gender issues. I maintain an avid interest in anti-oppressive practice with vulnerable women and integrating research into practice.
