• This job includes preparing material for Introduction to Veterinary Technology, Parasitology, and Pharmacology. I lecture and demonstrate in laboratory classes. Providing hands on experience and being a mentor/coach to students are my passion. I frequently work with students one on one during class to help them further understand a topic, practice a skill, even how to properly use a microscope. I also make myself available in the library when they needed additional instruction. Prior to teaching I worked as a teaching assistant for over a year and half in Clinical Pathology, Intro to Vet Tech, and Parasitology.

• This job includes initial appointments, providing financial estimates, patient care, anesthetic monitoring, obtaining blood pressure, ECGs, running CT Scans, cystocentesis, etc. I do everything from administer medications, set up IV lines, monitor blood transfusions, take radiographs, place peripheral and central venous catheters, NG tubes, urinary catheters (including female canine), and administer chemotherapy. I have advanced knowledge of internal medicine, emergency, and critical care monitoring, treatments, equipment, and procedures. I have extensive knowledge of medications including those not frequently used in day practice. I also monitor anesthesia for procedures such as CT scans, endoscopy, E/PEG/J tube placements, and more.

This job includes receptionist responsibilities including answering the telephones, filling, scheduling appointments for surgeries and boarding; as well as assisting the doctors in surgery, euthanasia, examinations, and various kennel care tasks. In addition to acting an assistant to the veterinarians while doubling as a receptionist, I educate clients on all aspects of pet health, advocate for the pets, and help contribute to a safe and effective hospital environment. Preparing vaccinations, prescriptions, patients for surgery, and explaining post surgical care are just a few of the many tasks I am comfortable with. In this clinic I implemented additions to our computer medical database that greatly improved our record keeping system as well as making adjustments to record storage and suggesting new cleaning solutions that we now use daily. I proudly demonstrate the ability to multitask and interact with clients all while maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude.
