About Ashleigh Doop
Seeking a seasoned school social worker that is passionate in servicing and advocating for the evolving needs of children and their families? Look no further! I am a dedicated individual who has been working diligently to proactively identify and service the needs of children and their families for over nine years, with experience working with diverse populations of children: from preschoolers to high schoolers, in general and special education, in a clinic setting and center based programs, as well as children from inner city, suburban, and rural school settings. I received my Masters in Social Work degree, with a school specialization from Gallaudet University. Given my experiences as a general/special education school social worker I'm eager to put my unique subset of skills to service children with disabilities and their families in Michigan. I specialize in working with those in the Deaf community and am able to provide no communication barrier services to Deaf clients given my sign language interpreting certifications. I am seeking a career working in the school systems as well as non-profit organizations. I am intrigued in career prospects that service students with disabilities with a particular interest in hearing loss such as residential schools for the deaf, mainstream deaf/hard of hearing programs or early intervention services. I've lead individual counseling sessions as well as behavioral skill groups, support groups, and advocacy groups for students. These groups addressed a range of issues including friendship and emotional regulation skills, self-advocacy, divorce, and incarcerated parents. I have presented lessons from a variety of curriculum as well as tailored lessons to meet the needs of individual classrooms. I have served on the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Crisis Intervention, Behavioral Response, Student Improvement and Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) teams of schools in which we have revamped the practices and procedures of their systems to more effectively support students’ academic and behavioral growth. I have conducted interviews and intakes as well as utilized observations, assessment tools, and parent/teacher consultations to collect data to guide functional behavioral assessments and develop behavioral intervention plans in order to guide service delivery to students.Given my experiences in working with youth in educational settings, I believe I can make a significant contribution to school districts and agencies working with children with special needs.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, Photoshop, and 17 others.
