Hi, I'm Ash! I'm a designer and advocate with a passion for community design and social policy initiatives that focus on environmentalism and gender-based violence.I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ball State University in 2023 with a B.Arch and minors in Social and Environmental Justice and Philosophy. During my time at Ball State, I was involved with Ball State's Center for Survivor Support, AIAS, and Stance, an undergraduate philosophy journal. My thesis, "Security in Spaces Designed by the Male Gaze," explored how community surveillance and education impacted the perception of safety in urban spaces, blurring the lines between policy and design.Since graduating, I have been able to enhance my technical knowledge of architecture and construction as well as expand my understanding of community organizing and legislation. I am eager to continue my education and community involvement with designers and firms whose work amplifies the voices of those in need while minimizing the impact on the natural environment.

During my time at HAUS, I was involved in all stages of design, from initial concept diagrams and massing to producing complete CD sets and photographing finished projects.As an Architectural Associate, I had the opportunity to broaden my understanding of construction details and building technology by completing four construction drawing sets and two schematic design packages. I especially enjoyed establishing connections with clients and customizing designs to meet their specific requirements. I frequently participated in client meetings, where I presented design concepts and project progress, and also introduced them to vendors.I also valued the chance to enhance my photography skills by photographing six completed projects and post-producing eight. Leveraging my prior experience in social media marketing from my undergraduate involvement in organizations, I created, planned, and posted content for HAUS's Instagram from October 2023 to June 2024.
