My parents were both furniture industry veterans with a tradition of working in the rent to own furniture industry going back multiple generations. I applied to the Parsons School of Design for their Fashion Studies degree. At Parsons I earned my Master of Arts in Fashion Studies, splitting my time between New York City and Paris. After graduation I returned to the United States, moving back to High Point and working as a furniture credit specialist, where I specialized in sub-prime financing.
