Pediatric Otolaryngology Rn
CurrentProvides exceptional care to up to 60+ patients daily at an Otolaryngology (ENT) clinic specializing in the pediatric population. Assisting and ensuring the clinic maintains an efficient flow for both providers and other essential staff on the team. Preparing and assisting in a vast amount of in-clinic procedures that include lip and tongue tie release, ear cleanings, cyst removals, nose debridements, and many more. Supervise a team of two Certified Medical Assistants and ensure training is the most up-to-date according to hospital guidelines and procedures. -Perform telephone triage for all urgent and non-urgent issues received from the call center.-Communicate with patients and providers via telephone, email, and through MyChart secure messaging while maintaining appropriate HIPAA guidelines for all means of communication.-Precept new hires, including Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs), and RNs as necessary.-Deliver ongoing education to patients, parents, and caregivers about medical diagnoses, procedures, and general medical questions or concerns.-Manage scope, machine, procedures, clinic cleanliness, and operations within required deadlines.-Proficient in use with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) to include properly documenting in-clinic procedures, as well as telephone, mychart, and patient encounters. -Assist with ordering medications and obtaining prior authorizations when applicable.-Coordinate peer-to-peer provider appointments for numerous different insurance and health plans to assist with appeals of referrals and authorizations.-Perform post-op follow-up calls to ensure proper healing and reinforce post-op teaching.-Analyze and prioritize all patient needs to close patient encounters within 24 hours of receiving.-Assist in the Centralized Covid-19 notification pool (CCNP), to notify Covid positive patients of results in a timely manner. -Maintain a HIPAA-compliant workspace remotely for authorized work-from-home work hours.
