•Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance: reconciling entries.•Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information•Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions•Prepare year-end reports needed by accountant to prepare year-end tax return•Prepare and file 941s, VA VEC FC-20-21, and VA-16•Prepare 1099s and W-2’s for all contractors and employees

•Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy•Prepare monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts•Prepare various work papers for auditors on a quarterly and year-end basis•Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, wire and credit card transactions•Work directly with development office to reconcile accounts monthly

•Plan and execute day-to-day activities of financial statement and compliance audits of corporations, government entities, and non-profit organizations•Interact with clients and conduct accounting research•Supervise, train, and coach staff accountants on various audits while acting as the in-charge accountant•Supervised up to two auditors on engagements including superiors due to my relationship and expertise with clients•Participate in company liaison program, mentoring new staff members to become familiar with firm and audit responsibilities
