I work on different sustainable agriculture and food business profiles for the Southern Oregon Coast area. I have been working on highlighting the amazing people and products that come from a beautiful region that doesn't necessarily get recognized as other parts of Oregon do. My goal is to cause others to celebrate the Southern Oregon Coast.

Facilitate weekly booth assignment and fees for market vendors utilizing the Manage My Market online platform. Vendors gave input that consistent booth assignments before market days assisted with their preparation immensely. Also contacted farmers without internet service through phone calls and in person check in. ● Ensure that each market runs smoothly by resolving questions and issues as they arise. Enforcement of market rules and Oregon Department of Agriculture guidelines for direct-marketing agricultural products as well as food safety. Conflict management skills among vendors and consumers have been noted as professional and friendly. ● Oversee the implementation of Double Up Food Bucks Oregon ​ ​ program to provide supportive resources for vendors and educational awareness to community about the SNAP matching program benefits. The 2016 season weekly surveys showed that over the course of the season 300 people were first time farmers market attendees and majority of participants purchased local produce varieties for the first time. ● Expand on community outreach of market by creating local partnerships, implementing marketing handouts, neighborhood tabling locations, social media protocols, establishing an Instagram account, strengthened local television and radio presence by having consistent coverage, as well as published press releases in the local newspaper ​The World in print and on their website

Currently I have been coordinating cooperative culture at Coos Head Food Co-op by:-facilitating buyer meetings -overseeing social media -collaborating on design and coordinating logistics for co-op merchandise-writing copies for newspaper and radio ads-drafting graphic design for store signs -coordinate events, press releases, and community partnerships -assisting with staff enrichment incentives and more!

Educated children on environmental practices, biology, and marine sciences. Participated in class field trips, after school programs, summer camps, and community engagement opportunities. Assisted with community events and workshops. Provided customer service within reserve center whenever needed.

I worked at the South Slough Estuary Reserve through the Americorp Program.

Coordinated and developed monthly community events calendar as a source for store updates, event information, promotional spotlight for community partners, and food education guide. Also oversaw distribution of calendars to high foot traffic community and college campus locations. ● Confidently acted as “Co-op Story-teller” by building rapport at numerous club and community meetings; additionally developed presentations for UCSB academic lectures and residential halls programs. Photographed events and updated materials to social media. Oversaw social media presence on Facebook and Instagram by uploading posts as well as connected with local supporting vendors and partners. ● Managed the volunteer and intern program through active recruitment at presentations and job fairs. Executed orientations and trained volunteer and intern teams for specific roles. Monthly and weekly updates and sign-ups were organized through email and file sharing forms via Google Drive and Drop Box. Many interns and volunteers were able to receive academic work credit and work study pay due to value and caliber of their service. ● Demonstrated ability to enhance the overall outreach and education program by creating events such as Community “TED” Talks, Beach Brunch Yoga, Sunflower Kids Club, and Eating Well Tour Series. The consistency of popular events increased co-op store sales and outreach program resources. The 2015 financial yearwas the most profitable for the co-op in the 44 year history largely due to successful outreach programs and partnerships. ● Implemented food justice programs that included SNAP education workshops, partnerships with Associated Students Food Bank and Food Bank of Santa Barbara County, nutrition booths at community food pantries, as well as resources on how to eat local foods on a budget. First year of outreach in 2013 store SNAP sales were $17,000 and when I left in 2015, sales had expanded to $98,000 annually. Provided customer service.

Working on designing the first penalty matrix for organic standards for the state organic program as well as working on bill analysis in relations to organic standards.
