Manage the experimental integrity of the Biodomain GMO lab and supervise technicians, contractors, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. This includes bioanalytical laboratory, fermentation and hydrolysis laboratories (1L to 100L), soil sciences laboratory, sequencing as well as wet chemistry laboratories. Lead technician for experimental work in GMO Biodomain lab. Focal point in building maintenance, equipment preventative services and repairs, HSSE concerns, and day to day operations in lab. Lab monitor with a great understanding of Shell Safety requirements and how to navigate these systems to ensure uninterrupted daily activities . Competencies include Permit Vision writer/approver, Management of Change competent person, and CISPro Super User.Experimental work includes bio-engineering microbiological projects for progress to scale up solid state fermentation of biomass to chemicals and products. Plans and implements projects independently and handles more complex projects with support from team lead. Able to identify and solve non-routine problems in lab. Supports on-boarding of undergraduate and masters students through coaching and mentoring.
