One of my responsibilities as a Career Services Advisor here at Kaplan College is to start at the beginning with the current students. Helping them build a resume, going over topics that a potential employer will ask and what they are looking for. Assisting the students from the beginning of their time at Kaplan and extending past their Graduation date, I help connect employers with students for job placement and help guide them through anything they need regarding a new career in a job that they have worked so hard for.

Receive and review radiology orders sent from multiple providers and multiple offices. Contact the patients insurance company and verify that they have current coverage.Once the insurance was verified, I went through steps for the procedure to be approved or denied.Gave clinical information to the insurance company to validate the testing that was ordered. Once test was approved, I would then send it on to the scheduling department.If tests were denied, documents would be scanned in and a message was sent to the provider to notify them of the criteria that was needing for future submission for the test.

Received referral forms from the physician and schedule specialty patient appointments. Contacted insurance to verify that the procedure or specialty was accepted. Contact the patients with the new appointment date, time and location. Schedule specialty procedures (MRI, CT, Xrays, Ect) and notify the patients of their procedure. Assist the medical record department when needed for scanning and giving documents to patients. Prepare FMLA paperwork and contact patients regarding forms.

Complete Graduation Paperwork for the State Board of Cosmetology and submit to the Board for approval.Monitor attendance and contact students regarding hours needed for completion of school. Contact Businesses in the field of Cosmetology and introduce to them what we can offer and how we can meet their needs with current students that are nearing graduation.Assist students with finding job openings in their area.Assisting students complete and edit resumes. Coach students through an interview process and give tips to help during the interview.
