Responsible for leading product and technology development efforts related to digital dentistry solutions. Includes leading new product development projects from concept to commercialization with proper design control for medical device development; training and mentoring direct reports in all aspects of digital dentistry and new product development; being the technical lead for validated milling center on partnership development projects; and maintaining up-to-date project summaries, analyses, and comparative reports for upper management.

Held responsibilities within 3 strategic areas of R&D: digital workflow development, product development, and technology development. This role also provided me the opportunity to provide guidance and direction to less experienced engineers.Digital Workflows- stayed up-to-date with latest software releases to ensure our product portfolio was integrated into existing CAD/CAM systems as well as innovating ways to expand our reach within the digital dentistry sector- subject matter expert for digital dentistry within the R&D team Product Development- Led several new product development projects from concept through commercialization- Responsible for CAD design, drawings, testing, risk analysis, and project management Technology Development- conducted feasibility testing for several emerging technologies and generated executive summaries for management review - met with clinicians and other industry leaders to partner on new concepts for product and workflow innovation

Product Design & Development - Lead engineer on minor product development projects, responsible for the entire development lifecycle - Developed and maintained digital CAD libraries for company product offerings- Developed cost-efficient strategies to prototype and pilot new concepts with a concentration in expanding digital workflows Sustaining Engineering- Investigated returned product to determine root cause of failure and identify areas of need for design improvement

Product Design & Development - Played a substantial role in the design effort of new components, including 3D modeling and drawing in Solidworks - Worked in collaboration with operations and manufacturing to address production concerns with new and existing products - Wrote and performed validation protocols to support the release of new parts or equipment Sustaining Engineering - Functioned as one of the core R&D reviewers for manufacturing prints and to identify areas of design optimization ensure design control procedures are being followed - Assisted in a full inventory packaging conversion to reduce packaging footprint by 55%

Accuracy of Dental Implant Placement with a 3D Printed Surgical GuideFor my undergraduate thesis, I collaborated with two local dental companies and an oral surgeon to quantify accuracy differences between placing a digitally planned dental implant free handed versus with a 3D printed surgical guide. This study is utilizing 3Shape’s digital workflow and an analytical tool we developed.

Represented the largest engineering honor society on campus as well as lead the executive team, consisting of 5 other officers and 4 faculty advisors. - Saw membership increase 450% and increased chapter productivity by more than 50% - Created avenues to allow for digital interaction and participation within our organization to increase average member response by 250%

Retrospective Study on the Corrosion in Modular Total Hip ReplacementsI collected over 150 hip replacements that had been removed from patients to retrospectively study corrosion that led to failure of the device. Using patient data collected at the time of replacement surgery as well as a stereomicroscope, I analyzed the relationship between corrosion and time, gender, age, as well as various design features.
