Provide adult clients with severe and persistent mental illness with Psychoeducational Services which include teaching and modeling effective coping skills to help control behaviors, thoughts, and emotional reactions to the symptoms of their mental illness. Also includes coaching clients on how to interact with others more appropriately in public settings and help clients to identify enjoyable hobbies and activities to combat isolative behaviors commonly found in individuals with mental illness. Provide Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services which include assisting clients with learning basic living skills that have either deteriorated as a result of mental illness or were never fully developed in the first place. These skills include managing money, grocery shopping, cleaning, and taking medications as prescribed. Also assist clients with accessing medical, social, and educational resources to help them meet the basic necessities for self-sufficiency.

Assist clients with severe and persistent mental illness develop the skills necessary to successfully obtain and maintain gainful employment using the Supported Employment Model. Includes assisting clients with employment search as well as providing continued support on the job as needed, such as helping to improve communication between clients and their employers or co-workers, and helping clients develop skills for coping with the symptoms of their mental illness while at work. Continue to meet all guidelines of supported employment program as outlined by the State of Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the SAMHSA Supported Employment Model. Maintain a caseload of 25 clients.

Process all new applications, responsible for the maintenance of documentation for active clients, conduct quarterly trainings for new case managers employed by AACO-funded agencies, attend bi-monthly Office of Housing and Community Development meetings to present quarterly reports and discuss new ideas / strategies for more effective dissemination of HUD funds for HIV positive individuals, construct quarterly reports that are disseminated to all AACO-funded agencies, attend bi-monthly trainings on a variety of social service topics related to the issue of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, visit a variety of AACO-funded agencies to present information about the AACO Housing Services Program to clients who wish to access the program.

Initiate individualized treatment plans for adolescents with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders and work closely with case managers and other members of a multi-disciplinary team to assure all problems are addressed, provide regular progress notes in patients’ medical records, facilitate educational groups, schedule and conduct regular 1:1 sessions with all assigned patients, perform conjoin/family sessions as needed.

Provide structure and nurturance to adolescent girls in need through mentoring and enforcement of daily rules and schedules, prep youth to thrive in society by teaching/modeling appropriate social skills and coping skills, and occasional practice of crisis intervention techniques.

Frequent practice of crisis intervention techniques, assist clients with activities of daily living, model/teach appropriate social skills and coping skills, and provide a safe environment for clients through mentoring and enforcement of daily rules and schedules.

Participate in the Enriched Play Program by interacting with and planning constructive activities for neglected and abused children as they wait to be seen by their therapists.
