Responsible for finance function, company secretarial, procurement and information technology.

Reporting to the Managing Director and directly responsible for a team of 20 high performing team members in Finance, Accounting, IT, Procurement, FP&A Forecasting, Strategic Planning, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Human Resources and Marketing. Also acting in the role of Company Secretary.

• Manage the Financial Control function for Target to ensure all expectations are met in a timely and accurate manner• Advise the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer of all issues arising within the financial control function• Finance functional lead for ERP implementation from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA.• Drive and coordinate processing, accounting and reporting timetables and management reporting for inclusion into Financial report suite• Manage the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures for Target that meet corporate and legislative requirements• Ensure Target’s balance sheet and P&L is a true and accurate representation of Target’s financial position• Prepare reporting for submission to Group Accounting and the Senior Leadership team.• Monitor and report balance sheet metrics, risks and opportunities and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed • Ensure effective application of accounting standards in all aspects of team's work and seek technical advice and/or provide to the business where required • Prepare technical accounting and/or position papers in support of key accounting decisions and relevant information for Group Accounting and statutory requirements • Ensure the observance and application of corporate governance within Target with all financial decisions• Identify and implement continuous improvement in internal/ business controls• Maintain Targets relationships with Wesfarmers Group Accounting, internal audit and external auditors

• Manage the accounting and month end reporting in line with timetable requirements• Responsible for management and development of financial accountants• Key accountability for monthly Wesfarmers reporting requirements• Involvement in half year and annual Group report and accounts process, taking responsibility for a number of disclosures and notes to the financial statements• Continuous development and improvement of reporting to guide decision making• Prepare technical accounting and/or position papers in support of key accounting decisions and relevant information for Group Accounting and statutory requirements• Produce project and ad hoc reporting for key stakeholders• Responsible for project accounting including setup, maintenance, capitalisation, review and closure of projects• Ensure the observance and application of corporate governance within Target with all financial decisions• Proactive involvement with wider Target business to ensure a positive team environment

- Preparation of the Village Roadshow Limited Consolidated Australian Income Tax Return- Fringe Benefits Tax Returns for six entities- Preparation of half yearly tax provision calculations, including tax effect accounting journals for statutory accounts and liaise with corporate accounting and divisional accountants to this end- Consolidated income tax projections- Preparation of annual and five year forecasts for company PAYG income tax instalments- Maintenance of the VRL franking credit account- Involvement of BAS and IAS lodgement- Maintain critical scrutiny and analysis to ensure VRL tax division advice/ reports/ files are thorough and robust- To work at all times in the interest of the tax team, finance unit and broader VRL group by sharing knowledge and providing training and development in the use of accounting software, tax update presentations to finance team, and training to tax members on legislation when required- Ensure accounting and reporting systems are designed and maintained to enable efficient tax reporting- Maintain awareness and ensure all members are compliant with policy, procedure and statutory requirement gaining the maximum efficiency and minimising company risk- Liaise with external accountants and stakeholders/ colleagues ensuring that instructions, enquiries and queries are acted upon and strong relationships formed.
