I am a recent BS Computer Engineering graduate from MSOE with diverse, hands-on, and team-based project experiences. I have skills in computer hardware and software specifically FPGA's, embedded systems, Java, Arm assembly, VHDL, C, and C++.Growing up I always had an affinity for computers and electronics in general. I remember setting up my own Windows XP profile on my family computer that had a CRT monitor. My interest in electronics and computers was further piqued in high school when I took classes that taught me about circuits, robotics, and HTML. I ended up falling in love with both breadboard prototyping circuits and coding which lead me to decide to pursue computer engineering as my college major. In my college search, I discovered that MSOE’s computer engineering program had a balance of hardware and software that appealed to me as well as an emphasis on hands-on experience. Ultimately, I decided MSOE was the best fit for my interests and my goals for the future. For my Senior Design project, I worked on a team of 5 to design and build a low-cost smart buoy system to monitor water parameters that indicate algae growth in a body of water. I designed and selected components to create a power management circuit for the buoy hardware. Another team-based project I worked on was developing a GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) tool. I also have experience working on individual projects such as developing a custom computer system to interface with several peripherals that involved creating custom peripherals in VHDL and writing APIs in C. While at MSOE I worked on several project teams which allowed me to become a team player and develop strong communication skills. My previous summer employment, working as a custodian, I worked both on teams and independently. I had the opportunity to lead a cleaning team on multiple occasions. Also, while working independently I developed strong time management skills. I will take all of these skills with me as I move forward in my professional career.
