I am a Psychiatric nurse practitioner in private practice as well as co-founder of Emote Health Inc., a remote practice management service for psychiatric clinicians in private practice. My partner and I were inspired to create Emote after years of working in group and solo private practice. During these years they took note of all the practice related tasks and to-do’s that distracted them from their clinical development, practice growth, patient care and general work-life balance. Basically, they had a list of complaints. From this list Emote was developed.Collectively we have experience working in a wide range of practice settings including hospital, long-term inpatient, community mental health, group practice and solo private practice. In terms of work flow, operations and communication we have seen what works and what doesn’t. What we found was that tools and technology were not enough. What providers needed was the expertise of people who had walked the path and found the best solutions, along with passionate and highly-qualified admin experts who serve as the bridge between patients, providers, and technology.
