Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner - Lifespan Cancer Institute
Rotating coverage of all infusion units, including- triaging sick visits, managing infusion reactions, pain management, prescription refills, facilitating admissions to inpatient unit from infusion unit after consulting with attending, and coumadin management in collaboration with nursing.Develop specialization based on disease management in the GI Oncology Clinic and deliver a complete range of NP services and expertise by working alongside a GI oncologist attending, meeting patients in the practice and becoming familiar with plan of care and goals of care.Deliver care to all Oncology patients, identify palliative care needs, and facilitate specialty referral, facilitate disease management clinic practice through regular meetings with attending staff, coordinate patient care alongside nurse navigators, conduct survivorship care per guidance of current Adult Survivorship program and facilitate prior authorizations and peer to peer review.Ability to cover all aspects of the oncology clinic including but not limited to hematologic cancers, breast/gyn cancers, and genitourinary cancers.
