I started Kildaire Family Dental with zero patients in 2016, and by 2017 the practice scaled quickly and had a large base of patients and an amazing dream team of dental professionals. At Kildaire Family Dental, we focused on Cosmetic, Family, and Sleep dentistry and really embodied treating our patients like our family. I sold the practice in January 2020 due to some personal health concerns, and ultimately to move into integrative medicine and wellness coaching, teaching, and sleep dentistry.

This afforded me the opportunity to practice and treat patients in an independently owned and operated office, where I gained practical and business experience in running a small business and treating patients. I worked for and with a mentor, who gave me hands-on experience and advice while allowing me to work independently to gain confidence in my skills as a dentist and leader. Clinically, I treated many patients with multiple chronic illnesses and complex dental needs.

I worked with local health departments and teams to assess prevention and wellness initiatives for chronic diseases. This internship specifically evaluated the response protocols and timing for stroke treatment disparities at hospitals across eastern North Carolina.

This was a coaching and teaching opportunity working as a nutrition educator for the Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program. I provided individual and group health, nutrition, and wellness coaching and classes on healthy nutrition choices and options for expectant and postpartum mothers.

As a surgical assistant, I gained valuable experience working directly with patients and providers in an on-site surgery center and clinic. I provided ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including fluorescein angiography, and provided pre and post-op care for patients suffering from ophthalmic conditions often related to various chronic and/or autoimmune diseases.

I assisted on site with clinical studies according to FDA/GCP and ICH regulations and guidelines. I provided medical care to patients, performing study activities such as informed consent, screening, and protocol procedures which include but are not limited to vital signs, pregnancy tests, height, weight, ECGs, etc. While working directly with participants, I helped to ensure that IRB approval was obtained prior to study initiation and IRB requirements were met throughout the study.
