As the Education Programs Intern, I manage many social media platforms, create graphic designs, and conduct educational public outreach pertaining to agriculture. This position has allowed me to become very familiar with all of Oregon's agricultural commodities, and the factors associated with them such as their growing region, production practices, and statistical figures. This position has greatly expanded my agricultural knowledge, especially within Oregon, and improved my written communication so that I am able to make information understandable to the public. Along with expanding agricultural knowledge, this position has improved my ability to be detail oriented and creative in my communication style.

This position relied heavily on my well-developed ability to work independently with a variety of demanding responsibilities. I fine-tuned my ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks and developed efficient communication practiced when working with coworkers as well as with other industry professionals. This work experience required me to have confidence in my knowledge, be solution-minded, and maintain relationships through effective communication. Throughout the duration of this internship, I used my ingenuity and critical thinking to improve company efficiency by creating a new user-friendly crop forecasting system. Much of my daily work required me to be an extremely adaptive learner, as well as use a balance of strategic thinking combined with in-field responsibilities.
