After student teaching and substitute teaching in the Columbus area I began working for New Lexington High School in their Technology Department in 2010. There I had the opportunity to teach Information Technology, Technology Education, Web Page Design and School Publications. I also attended professional development opportunities, such as eTech, a technology conference in Columbus, OH as well as sessions on subjects such as children living in poverty. After 2 years at New Lexington High School, I received my current position in the Business Department at Central Crossing High School. Here I have taught Business Foundations and Business Administrative Support I. I have attended many professional development opportunities including eTech, Ohio's Annual Statewide Educators Conference and a Digital Danger workshop focusing on bullying, cyberbullying, and online safety for students. I have also began working towards my Master's degree in School Counseling and am currently in the middle of completing a 700 hour internship. I hope to continue working on my education and evolving as a teacher and future school counselor. I also hope to provide my students with real-life examples and make their learning experience as fulfilling as possible. I want to show them that education does not stop when they receive their high school diploma but is something that continues with them throughout their life and they should always strive for excellence and to reach their fullest potential.Specialties: Information technology, web page design, HTML, Microsoft Office, technology education, computer typing, Adobe Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Photoshop.
