My first project was to communicate with the engineers and designers to gather all the design rules in order to make custom laboratory furniture and put it in a large document that we would then give to a third party company to create a configurator for our customers to be able to design their own workstations and order them. I worked with this third-party company and ensured that there were minimal bugs in the system. I was responsible for compiling all internal data consisting of manufacturing rules needed by our technology partner to develop an online product configurator. I also got into project management while I was there while ensuring large jobs, for massive laboratories, got through all of the systems correctly and that the customer got what was ordered.

While Covid was running rampant, everyone was getting tested for Covid all the time. This branch of Luminex created the plastic single use cartridges that are run through PCR Testing to test for Covid, Strep Throat, Norovirus, etc. However, the Covid vaccine had just been released, so they knew they did not need someone long term. I was hired as a contract position because the plastic cartridges were very back ordered, and the company was under strain. They needed help getting some of the processes improved. My time at Luminex was mostly working on the IQ/OQ/PQ processes and writing testing procedures as well as getting different useful items or processes through.

Hired at Seno Medical to help develop the next generation of their opto-acoustic imaging probe. I designed, worked with manufacturers, conducted testing, wrote out the testing requirements, prototyped, wrote out the assembly process, and trained others in that process. I also worked with lasers, fiber optics, and water submerged testing. The parts I made were also injection molded.

I focused on teaching statics, dynamics, and thermodynamics but many students came to me with higher level classes. Demonstrated high conceptual knowledge of fundamental engineering classes as well as the ability to communicate effectively to other students.

Girlstart is an afterschool program in which women in college go to elementary schools and encourage 4th and 5th-grade girls to join STEM fields. My job was to organize and conduct small labs with the girls and explain how they worked with engineering concepts. This demonstrates a passion for the field as well as a positive attitude while in chaotic situations.

Responsibilities included forming and leading academic events and study groups as well as collaborating with other students and helping them achieve academic goals.

This was an internship at Automated Wiring Systems in San Antonio. I worked with engineers and noted their day to day activities. I worked with an Arduino Uno to practice programming. I also created many models in SolidWorks to help contribute to the day to day work of fellow employees. The Solidworks models I created were then 3D printed and I learned a lot about 3D printing and the process involved which led to me obtaining my own 3D printer and continuing the hobby.
