I am a highly skilled and dedicated mental health clinician with a wealth of experience in working with individuals facing severe mental illnesses. As a co-founder of The Prestige Association, I bring clinical expertise and harmonious rapport to my therapeutic treatment. My academic journey began at Clayton State University, where I pursued my passion for Psychology. I earned my bachelor's degree in 2008, laying a strong foundation for my future career path. After my undergrad program, I began my work history at several non-profit resources for community mental health. Later, I went on to complete my master's degree at University of Georgia graduating in 2018 in Social Work (MSW). It was during this time that honed my individual expertise and developed a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health.I began my professional clinical journey the same year I completed my MSW, starting in inpatient settings and community crisis response work. These early experiences exposed me to a multifarious range of clients and sharpened my understanding of the unique needs and challenges in mental health and the complexities of the mental health system. Throughout my career, I have worked with a multitude of populations, including children, adolescents, older adults, individuals with substance illnesses, veterans, intimate partner/family abuse survivors, and incarcerated individuals. My extensive exposure with numerous roles in the mental health system has equipped me with a comprehensive perspective on the complexities of mental health. This has enabled me to cater to individual therapeutic needs of my clients. My specialty is building strong individual based treatment plans that work to best treat a client with the best science-based treatment modality. As an EMDR trained therapist, I focus on how the nervous system processes traumatic memories and help clients to reorientate their body and mind around trauma using this neuroscience-based treatment. I remain at the forefront of research and actively integrate the latest findings into my treatment while still incorporating the classic therapeutic techniques. I have skillfully developed rapport building techniques and work to build a space where my clients feel safe and supported during their treatment process.
