Patient Advocate (Founder)
• Established the Patient Advocate role for Kaiser Permanente's Oregon region. • Develop a data tracking system and intake form for the role. • Established relationships across departments and regions. • Facilitator between the patient and health care team during family meetings• Develop individually focused scripting to aid in communication with challenging patients and families for nursing and physician interactions.• Serve as the outpatient liaison for patient advocacy. • Coordinated with operational leadership in development of new programs.• Chair for the East service area Patient Advisory Council.Program Management • Work with hospital and regional leaders, developed training, scripting, and contact lists. • Implement trainings on the utilization of EPIC among other tasks the programs required. • Coach and supervised staff assisting with the new programs. • Created and managed the below programs at Sunnyside Hospital. "Main Point of Contact", Virtual program focused on connecting patients and family members to inpatient care teams. "Patient and Family Connection", Virtual program focused on proactive communication of patient and family visitation rights. "ED Care Volunteer", Customer Service rounding with increased wait times and visitation restrictions. "East Service area Patient Advisory Council", Engaging member insight on healthcare system and consumer satisfaction.Training and Coaching Experience, • Partnering with leaders in the development of train curriculum and coaching techniques. • Serve as a coach in improving patient centered communication skills across departments within the hospitals and ambulatory clinics.• Lead Large group trainings such as Service Recovery, Active Listening and Unconscious Bias for hospital and ambulatory staff.
