Full-time intern for the Duke Farms Foundation's Education Department. I assisted with the education of students from college and elementary school field trips as well as hundreds of visitors at Pop-up Education tents. I taught pre-planned lessons to small family groups and developed and coordinated my own adults-only classes with 15-30 participants. I also helped with projects in the Natural Resources/Stewardship department and worked with the intern cohort to conduct firefly population monitoring, bird banding, monarch migration monitoring, permaculture garden design and maintenance, and freshwater macroinvertebrate identification and monitoring. In addition, I also created projects for the Distance Learning Portal, an online education portal with hundreds of articles and lesson plans that can be used in a classroom setting.

My position as Intern involved administering the organization's website using WordPress. I uploaded meeting information, water quality reports, and upcoming events, so the public had access to information about the organization and the local water quality. I also attended meetings, actively brainstormed ideas and created educational activities to teach the public about our organization and the importance of the watershed at events, like the 4-H fair. In addition, I participated in the local Denville Rockaway River Cleanup that the organization hosted, as well as the Whippany River Watershed Action Committee's reforestation project in Morris Plains.
