• Collaborated with a research team to developed a state-wide survey to evaluate integrated behavioral health care and build a searchable data base in the effort to more effectively train behavioral health providers in the medical setting throughout Colorado • Contributed to the organization and facilitation of a stakeholder consortium to present the study’s findings and facilitate working groups to determine the future direction of integrated behavior health care training • Analyzed and organized data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and future trends of provider training in Colorado

• Conduct psychosocial assessments for new patients to determine their financial, emotional, and community resource needs to provide effective counseling interventions and community resources• Contributed to the facilitation of support groups for children of cancer patients to encourage healthy emotional processing and connection between group members and their families• Provided adjustment to illness and end of life counseling for patients and families in an inpatient and outpatient setting • Engaged patients, families, and care teams to complete discharge planning and referrals insuring safe discharges that meet the needs of each patient • Collaborated with healthcare team, patients, and families to develop individualized care plans and provide education to patients and families to equip them to make informed medical decisions • Gained better understanding of the hospital system and programs through attending Cancer Care accreditation meetings and shadowing on the Cardiac, NICU, ER floors

• Worked primary with geriatric populations developing and implementing patient discharge plans through patient assessments and community resource referrals• Assisted Social Workers in patient treatment planning through chart reviews, assessing activities of daily living, determining available resources, and effective documentation

As an Administrative Intern with Life Network I furthered the LifeSteps program by assisting under-privileged mothers seeking child rearing education, counseling, community services, and child care supplies. My administrative duties included furthering donation intake by training and directing other volunteers, organizing counseling and informational materials for clients, and compiling monthly statistical progress reports. I directly served clients by collected follow up information about their status and well-being and observing counseling sessions.

Throughout the internship I observed and assisted in several aspects of the Family Advocacy Program such as case management,domestic violence group therapy and treatment for soldiers and spouses, and parenting courses. In addition, I assisted in case documentation and intake assessments.
