Responsible for overseeing a residence hall of approximately 65-85 undergraduate upper class students involved in undergraduate research with the McNair and Aresty Programs. Ensured that the residence hall environment is conducive to the academic enhancement, intellectual growth and social development of program participants. Provided supervision, training, guidance, support, and continuous coaching to staff of Peer Instructors. Additionally, I assisted with the logistics and equipment needs of academic seminars, formal and informal programs, and meals as required by both programs. My role as Graduate Student Mentor included private advising with McNair students regarding their independent research projects, goals, and the PhD application process. I hosted events and activities that facilitated a relaxed environment in which to have low-stakes conversations about their future careers as academics. Lastly, I instructed two courses: one on research methods and another on race in contemporary US society.

The McNair Scholars Program is a federal TRIO program funded at 200 institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico by the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. As a McNair Scholar, I developed a proposal to examine economic abuse in the lives of Caribbean and Latina domestic workers. Additionally, I participated in courses tailored to develop research skills, proposal writing, and public speaking. Received recognition for outstanding research proposal among 2014 McNair cohort.

Plans and executes programs related to responsible citizenship, diversity, scholarship, and community interaction in order to promote healthy community development and relationships. Other tasks related to beautification of the building and various administrative responsibilities.
