I am a Communications Specialist for the Office of the Assistant Under Secretary for Health (AUSH) for Patient Care Services (PCS), Business Support Office Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Washington, DC. VHA's clinically related programs support the delivery of patient care services, ensuring the full continuum of health care, which comprises health promotion, disease prevention, diagnostics, therapeutic and rehabilitative care, recovery, and palliative care. Special Detail to the Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs (OPIA), The National Veterans Outreach Office (NVO). NVO leads, coordinates, and reports outreach program activities and communications throughout the US Department of Veterans Affairs to increase Veterans' awareness of and confidence in the VA's healthcare, benefits, and services and how to apply for them; it complies with USC 38 Chapter 63.Special projects include: • Completed working draft of VA's NVO FY22-28 strategic plan.• Provided in-person support and event coordination assistance in the execution of the VA's FY22 Veterans Day events in conjunction with the White House, Arlington National Cemetery, VSO community, and advocates. The Ohio Army National Guard Mission: Always ready. Always there. Leads & trains 9-12 Soldiers in Combat Support Unit under a Force Readiness Unit (FRU). Operation experience in Homeland Response Force (HRF) as a security mission responder (CRBN,NIMs,FEMA certificates), Republic National Convention civil disturbance readiness, and various Military Police technical and tactical skills.Extensive project management with equipment and administrative tasks for platoon (30+ people) to include: firearm handling & maintenance, bus operator & transportation logistics, training planning & implementation, and education benefit liaison (local and statewide). Experience in managing Army Body Composition Program of 15-30 Soldiers, supply/loss prevention, and inventory sensitive items over 2 million dollars at minimum. • Completed leadership training Self Structured Development 1 & 2, and month long Basic Leadership Course (BLC). Awaiting school slot for Advanced Leadership Course (ALC) as I was a in-line Staff Sergeant role waiting on promotion with completion of ALC, once a slot was granted. The Veterans Employment & Education Division is responsible for ensuring that U.S. veterans have the opportunity to provide, with honor and dignity, the economic necessities of life for themselves and their families. The division provides guidance, technical assistance and troubleshooting in programs involving veterans education, small business, employment, veterans preference, VA home loans, homeless veterans, training, licensing and certification, transition, USERRA, and other issues related to economics. Furthermore, we coordinate programs with directors and chief operators within federal agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Labor, the Department of Education, the Department of Defense, the Office of Personnel Management, the Government Services Administration and the Government Accountability Office. Finally, we regularly testify to Congress on veteran-focused programs and meet with congressional staff members.

During my employment span I conducted over 4,500 services and helped a documented 1,400 students and community veterans in office as a part time employee. In this time, I averaged 10-20 outside community events a year equating to an additional audience of 2,400 people. Was apart of a team of that, ranks #3 out of 1,655 applied institutions in Community Colleges category by G.I Jobs Magazine 2018. Our program has been military friendly for 9 years in a row and ranked Military Spouse Friendly School FY2018 by G.I Jobs Magazine for second year in a row.Implemented and coordinated a Student Veterans Orientation / Assessment Process for student veterans and their families currently enrolled at Tri-C, VA Distance Learning Center, or non-students interested in attending school.
