Work with a Board Certified Veterinary Oncologist through daily appointments. Obtaining medical histories, current physical status, vitals, baseline blood work. Field emails and phone calls regarding questions of current patient status, protocol questions, new patient requests/ appointments. Know and understand different chemotherapies and their protocols and side effects. Administer different IV/ SQ/ PO Chemotherapy drugs to cats and dogs.Work PRN in the ER/ ICU at Partner. Triaging and leveling acuity of incoming patients. Performing initial diagnostics, administering medications, as well as admitting and discharging patients based on their treatment plans.

Clinical Skills: Place IVC (cephalic and saphenous, jugular), central lines, nasal O2, NG tubes, male urinary catheters, blood draws from jugular, cephalic, saphenous, and pedal veins, obtain arterial sample; take correctly positioned radiographs, anesthetize and intubate cats/ dogs, monitor anesthesia (ventilator and manual ventilation), properly restrain patients for physical exams, blood draws, catheter placements; appropriately TPR patients, drug calculations including CRI’s, administer IV, PO, IM, SQ medications, obtain urine via cystocentesis, prepare and interpret different samples in the lab including, ear cytology, urinalysis, blood smears; proficient in use of lab equipment such as ProCyte, Catalyst, iStat, Coag DX, triage patients and place them in a cue based on priority, perform CPR, care for critical and intensive patients. Executive Skills: Troubleshoot different equipment within the hospital, communicate effectively with other technicians, doctors, CSR’s, advocate for patient care, open and professional communication with clients. Proficient with: Smartflow and EzyVet.

Lead a team during shift to ensure hospital flow is efficient and effective. To bridge the gap in communication between doctors, technicians, management, receptionists and clients. To stock and restock new medications. Meetings once a month with other leads and management to “round table” discuss how to improve hospital capacity and communication.

Lead a team of 30+ technicians to ensure proper medical treatment, assist DVM with intrahospital communication, interview and hiring technicians, assist in training and on-boarding new staff, assist in inventory counts and ordering, controlled drug ordering, create staff scheduling for 24-hour coverage.
