Electrical Project Engineer for the Mummaloo ProjectEmployed in a diverse, challenging role for this junior mining company where I was actively involved in delivering all facets of the company’s first mine. I oversaw design, construction, tender package management, contractor management and commissioning for the following packages:5.2MW hybrid grid/diesel power station32km power line A 500,000L self-bunded fuel facilitySite wide satellite communications systemCitect/Schneider M340 PLC Control System72 man accommodation villageSite administration offices56m long weighbridge2 x Water storage tanks, total capacity approx. 3 million litresI was responsible for overseeing the electrical design for both the wet and dry processing plants. I was the manager of the electrical contractor for the dry processing plant electrical installation. I was responsible for responding to all technical queries and managing the schedule and finances for the project. I was the company interface to Western Power for the power line construction and approvals associated in running our generation in parallel with the grid. I was also involved in design and procurement of process equipment for a wet plant including a thickener, HPGR, wet screens, belt filter, slurry pumps, cyclones, reflux classifier.At various stages I was also involved with concrete design and installation, structural steel design and FAT, civil works design, mining contract negotiations, port facility commissioning, site surveying, site clearing.

Argyle Diamonds Underground Project- Joined the project at a late stage of design and was able to draw on my experience to quickly slot into the team, get up to speed with the project and assist other team members with their work. Tasks included: Implementing PLC and SCADA for underground ventilation and pumping systems, MCC and field panel testing and on-site commissioning for an underground conveyor and crusher system.

Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Brockman 4 Phase 2 Project-Package engineer for the delivery of a $1m online chemical analyser. Performed technical evaluation of available technologies and managed all commercial aspects of the project including preparation of contract documents, tender evaluations, communications with vendor and client, weekly progress meetings and FAT with the client - Responsible for the delivery of the control system for an overland conveyor and associated equipment. Tasks included: functional specification preparation, Modicon PLC and Citect programming, switchroom testing, on-site commissioning, remote commissioning.

Fortescue Metals Group, Cloubreak Iron Ore Mine- Spent 8 months on site commissioning the control system in a FIFO role. Commissioned all process plant areas including desand (wet plant), train load-out, crushing, screening and stacking. Work included GE Fanuc Rx3i PLC programming, Cimplicity HMI design, commissioning DeviceNet, Profibus, Modbus and fibre optic networks, PID loop tuning, ABB VSD commissioning, vendor package commissioning, managing a small team on site.Northern Iron, Sydvaranger Iron Project, Kirkenes, Norway (Magnetite) - GE Fanuc Rx3i PLC programming, iFix SCADA design. - Spent a total of 5 months on site commissioning both the crushing and wet plants. Duties included: PLC & SCADA commissioning, instrumentation calibration and testing, Ball mill commissioning, SEPAM configuration, Altivar VSD commissioning, PID loop tuning, providing on-site training, maintenance engineerGalaxy Resources, Mt. Cattlin Spodumene Mine, Ravensthorpe (Lithium)- Single handedly engineered the control system for the entire processing plant which included both wet and dry processes. Utilised GE Fanuc Rx3i PLC’s and Cimplicty HMI. FAT tested all switchboards and then spent several weeks on site commissioning the installation.

Successfully engineered and managed all facets of a project worth A$200k for the Kowloon Canton Rail Company (KCRC).- Tasks included: project management, customer interaction, schematic design, printed circuit board design, microcontroller programming, organisation and supervision of production, site testing in Hong Kong, documentation and the provision of technical support to the customer. Worked as Maintenance Engineer for the communication systems on the Perth “B” Series trains for the Mandurah line. - Tasks included: weekly meetings with the customer to report on progress, providing customer support on site, diagnosing failures and scheduling repair and upgrade programmes.
