Currently teaching at the Canberra Institute of Technology across a range of subjects and contracting within the Commonwealth public sector. I have over 40 years of finance and accounting experience across a diverse range of industries including the Commonwealth public service, retail, agriculture, television and film production. The last 17 years has been in the Commonwealth public sector with a particular focus on corporate governance, financial reporting, performance reporting, financial processes, assurance, budgeting and resource management.Having been exposed to finance and accounting in a wide range industries and environments I understand the need to balance the requirement to achieve outcomes and build sustainable models and solutions which can be replicated time and time again with inbuilt checks and balances. This broad experience has allowed me to undertake a unique range of roles within my career. These include the Mudgee regional development officer, inaugural CFO of the Future Fund, helping a small family hardware business become successful regional franchise owner in NSW, and financial controller of a listed public company. My working style is consistently characterised as uniquely personable, supported by professional qualifications and a genuine depth of experience. Whether I am developing my teams or working with colleagues, my emphasises is on the human element in business interactions which allows me to build lasting mutually beneficial relationships.
