● Knowledgeable in specific disease models, including but not limited to, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in mice and collagen induced arthritis (CIA) in mice.● Designated Trainer for methods of injection in mice and rats, blood collection in mice and rats, animal handling and restraint, identification, forms and book making.● Highly experienced in aseptic and sterile surgery practices, including but not limited to the preparation of surgeries and sterile fields, sterilization of instruments, pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, as well as recovery of patients and record keeping. ● Performed all aspects of Primary Technician roles and responsibilities, which included but not limited to, the preparation and maintenance of study books and lab space, and reviewed all data daily to ensure the study was fully executed according to the contract.● Maintained animal room records (e.g. animal health checks, husbandry tasks, temperature, relative humidity, cleaning/disinfection, light cycle).● Experienced in working inside micro-isolator rodent housing units, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods and changing stations.● Skilled at dosing routes of administration in mice and rats including subcutaneous, oral gavage, intraperitoneal, intramuscular, and pulmonary delivery via nebulizer.● Proficient at blood collection methods in rodents including cardiac puncture, tail vein, saphenous vein, jugular vein catheter (JVC), and portal vein catheter.● Experienced at major organ tissue collection procedures and specialized tissue collections including aorta, lymph nodes, and sciatic nerve.● Experienced in other sample collections including but not limited to bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, intraperitoneal lavage fluid, urine, feces, and genetic material for genotyping.● Skilled at the implantation of subcutaneous Alzet pumps in rodents.● Skilled at the isolation of fresh rat and mouse hepatocytes.
