Women in Flex (WIF) is an employee resource group (ERG) dedicated to creating opportunities for women across Flex. Together with our allies, we aim to enhance Flex's gender equality and balance, expose women to the world of technology, encourage an inclusive work environment and expand learning/career growth opportunities for women. As a regional lead, I function as the main representative of the local ERG in business related situations. I help ensure that our local ERG's goals are aligned to the focus areas established by D&I (Brand and Business Development, Recruitment and Retention, Professional Development), establish policies and subcommittees in agreement with the objectives established by corporate, communicate group achievement, ensure individual accountability, maintain team spirit and help ensure all voices are heard. I work with other regional leads to set the global strategic direction of the organization and help remove obstacles to ensure the organization meets its goals.WIF Austin started with informal lunches in the café every Wednesday and has since grown into a community 100+ strong; Austin’s WIF chapter meets monthly, coordinates qtrly leadership, development and networking events for its members and partners with various local groups in the community including UTWEP, TX Advocacy Project, Dress for Success, Central TX Foodbank, Goodwill and Salvation Army.
