Hi, my name is Ashley, and I am currently in my last year in the Social Service Worker Program at Seneca College at King Campus. As a placement student I had the opportunity to do my placement at a retirement home when completing my 200 hours. I am knowledgeable when working with seniors who have Dementia and Alzheimer’s as having a lot of experience when it comes to assisting seniors with regards to activities of daily living. Before taking the Social Service Worker Program I did the Personal Support Worker Program when it comes to assisting seniors as I have a lot of experience when working in the health care sector as being a placement student. My future goals are to either to work in the Social Service Worker field or as a Personal Support Worker in the health care system. My skills and abilities will make me a strong asset as having the education as an SSW and PSW. I work well in team setting excellent leadership skills, compassionate, understanding, empathetic good at problem solving, organized, and educated in trauma informed care. I want to make a difference in people’s life when it comes to their physical, emotional, and mental well being when providing quality care to seniors and youth when supporting youth and seniors with their independence with their everyday needs. I have completed many workshops which includes Mental Health Frist Aid Basic, Principles of Healthy Child Development, Principles of Healthy Aging, Revera Resident Non- Abuse Program and lastly Gentle Persuasive Approaches.
