KITE (Key Initiatives to Early Education) is an Enfield, CT non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing health, family engagement & support, and early care & education for the town’s youngest residents.Designed, implemented, and handled all event logistics-Identified and initiated improvements to existing events which increased participation-Structured documentation and measurement standards for all events so complete procedures,logistics, and partnerships are detailed as well as metrics for quantification of results.-Directed the creation of new leadership programs for underrepresented local communitiesincluding: Somalian, Indian, Black American, and Hispanic. Community members, through intensive training sessions, were given the tools for advocacy not only for themselves but their community. Program continues to be a vital and empowering leadership program.-Developed and implemented within six months, dozens of community events. These startup programs focused on the mentored of parents on the synergy between early childhood learning at home and school through the power of play.-Executed a two day equity training retreat for leaders within the community.-Maintained communication with the Leadership Board, funders and community members-Built an online community calendar where different organizations could promote family activities, professional development opportunities, and KITE events in one location. This calendar made it simple for residents to access all town events. Resident feedback and use quantified this program as an outstanding success.Managed fund development efforts-Secured over $500,000 in grant funding within two years-Created strong relationships with statewide foundations that led to future grant opportunities
