I am a community ecologist with expertise in spider, carabid beetle and plant identification to species level. I have experience of designing, planning and conducting scientific projects. I have experience in data handling and analysis using recently developed multivariate and modelling techniques.I have experience of publishing in scientific journals and as a reviewer. I have also written technical reports in collaboration with conservation organisations (Natural England) as well as articles in British Wildlife magazine.I am a member of the editorial board of Palearctic Grasslands.I am convenor of the Royal Entomological Society Insect Ecology Special Interest Group.I have vast teaching experience at both undergraduate and masters levels. I have lead and taught on over 15 residential field courses in the broad area of ecology. I have delivered a range of ecology practicals including: Phase One Habitat Survey, Condition Assessment, Bat Monitoring, Rapid Invertebrate Assessment, Reptile Surveys, Freshwater Invertebrate Surveys, Small Mammal Trapping, Deer Impact Assessment.I am a trained shepherd and have experience of sheep and cattle husbandry. Additionally I also have experience as a zoo keeper, with a focus on elephant and giraffe husbandry.
