    President of the University of York Cycling Club: Responsibilities included hosting committee meetings with eleven other committee members, sending weekly email reports, liaising with the Student Union, organising events, encouraging new and current members to participate in the sport of cycling, organising our weekly club rides, budgeting for the club accounts. I have implemented several new initiatives for the club, including a unique intra-club competition, more inclusive events and I secured a partnership deal with a leading sports nutrition supplier. I also secured £5,000 of funding from the university to purchase a new fleet of club-owned bikes. In December 2015, we were award YUSU Team of the Week for our hard work in trying to encourage more females to participate in sport. At the York Sport Union's annual sports awards evening in March, the UYCC were presented with the 'Most Improved Club of the Year' award for our continuous efforts to make the cycling club one of the most accessible and exciting sports club to be a part of at York.Personally I have also been shortlisted for several awards including 'Outstanding Leadership', 'Services to Sport' and the BUCS 'Unsung Hero' award. I also organised the BUCS Road and Circuit Races; the largest racing weekend in university cycling. Students from across the country came to York to compete in these races and it was hailed by competitors as a 'fantastic' and 'amazingly organised' event.Additionally, I was part of the organising committee for the University of York's annual charity bike ride, YuCycle. This event raised thousands of pounds to help fund scholarships for York students. As with the BUCS Road and Circuit Races, this event required the use of a variety of skills, including exceptional leaderships and organisational qualities, a great deal of planning and preparation, commercial awareness, as well as working to high standards and paying attention to detail when under pressure.
