•Performed evaluations and screens and developed appropriate goals, objectives, and therapy approaches for clients with impairments in cognition, speech and language and swallowing function secondary to dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injury, and cerebral vascular accident. Facilitated and implemented evidenced based practiced treatment and intervention.•Worked extensively with elderly dysphagia clients including regulating diets to avoid aspiration, textural analysis, and implementing and facilitating strategies to decrease risk of choking and aspiration. •Acquired knowledge and skills regarding dementia care based on Lanny Butler’s research and neuromuscular electrical stimulation for dysphagia treatment.•Collaborated with occupational and physical therapy professionals to provide modified devices and further treatment for clients. •Completed weekly progress reports and updated plan of care reports on CASAMBA and Vanguard ECS.•Participated in Care Plan meetings with other disciplines, family, and patient to discuss current measures, improvements, goals and plans for discharge.
